This is where your journey as a sailor truly begins. This course is your essential introduction, transforming curiosity into real, hands-on skill. We focus entirely on practical learning from the very first moment you step aboard.

You will train on a 45-49ft monohull in the sheltered Saronic Gulf, taking the helm, trimming the sails, tying essential knots, and understanding the rules of the sea in a calm environment.

You will train in a small group of just 6 crew, ensuring personalized attention. By the end, you'll have moved from guest to a capable, confident crew member, equipped with the foundational skills for any sailing adventure.

    We start with a full tour of the vessel so you can communicate and understand instructions with confidence.

  • Why it's vital, how to deliver it, and what to cover.

    This module teaches you the structure and content of an effective safety briefing for crew. You’ll learn why each point matters, how to ensure crew attention and understanding, and the mandatory topics to include.

  • Learn and master the practical knots for sailing.

    This module covers the essential knots for securing lines, docking, and general use on board, focusing on reliable tying and quick release.

  • The core skill of steering.

    Learn to feel the helm, find the wind, and steer a steady, confident course.

  • The fundamental maneuvers.

    Practice turning the boat through and with the wind until the motions become intuitive.

  • Managing sail power.

    Learn when and how to safely reduce sail area to maintain control and comfort as the wind increases.

  • The vital emergency drill.

    Master a clear, step-by-step procedure to recover a person from the water under power.

  • Putting it all together.

    Use your new skills in a controlled, final exercise to approach a dock with precision.

You will train on a modern 45-49ft monohull, selected for its stability and responsive handling. This industry-standard size is ideal for learning core skills in a safe and uncluttered environment, providing the perfect foundation to build confidence at sea.

With over 30,000 nautical miles and hundreds of charters, Mihail combines vast experience (RYA Yachtmaster Ocean,  RYA Cruising and Shorebased Navigation Instructor) with a genuine gift for teaching.

He’s the patient instructor who remembers those moments when your heart pounds in your chest and you’re afraid of making a mistake.

His superpower is explaining complex concepts simply. What this means for you: a calm, structured, patient coach beside you every step of the way. You’ll practice real maneuvers, receive daily feedback, and build confidence.

The chef takes care of provisioning and prepares fresh daily breakfast and lunch on board, leaving more time and energy to focus on training and make the most of every hour on the water.

Each evening, we'll dine ashore at authentic, hand-picked tavernas, enjoying the region's true flavors.
