Confidence in Rough Seas

When the horizon darkens and the wind begins to howl, will you be ready? This intensive course is designed for sailors who refuse to be caught off guard transforming anxiety into a structured, decisive response. You will master tacking and gybing under pressure, develop the instinct to reef quickly under load, learn to deploy drogues and sea anchors, and execute man-overboard recovery.

Training Area

True heavy‑weather competence must be experienced, not simulated. We run this course in July and August, targeting winds of 25 to 35 knots during the peak Meltemi season. Departing from Paros, we navigate the Cyclades in real, challenging conditions – building the muscle memory and fortitude for serious offshore sailing.

Fresh Food Onboard, Local Flavors Ashore

A chef joins the trip so you can focus on learning, not on preparing meals. Before you sail, we'll ask about food preferences and dietary needs – everything gets planned ahead. The chef handles shopping and cooking, preparing fresh breakfast and lunch on board each day, leaving you more time and energy for training.

Evenings, we'll dine ashore at authentic, hand-picked tavernas. Over good food, we'll talk about the day, debrief maneuvers, and share stories – turning dinner into a natural extension of your learning.

The Boat

Mid-size monohull: ideal for skill-building

You will train on a modern, performance-oriented monohull, typically 44–49ft in length. These vessels are specifically chosen for their powerful, direct handling and responsive behavior in challenging seas, providing the authentic feel and feedback essential for advanced heavy weather training. Vessels we typically use include the Beneteau Oceanis 46.1, Dufour 47, Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440, and Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 490.
